How do i get rid of my acne scars?

well i started a regiment in august after 5 years of acne (i'm now 14) and i finally gotten rid of them and my skin is nice and smooth though i do get occasional pimple here and there. I used to have a really bad habit in middle school i'd sit through math one hand doing cl work the other on my face trying to "scratch" off my pimples. you see back then i was kinda dumb. i later moved up to strategic popping (but that's another story). I've finally kicked the habit. i have these little dark spots on my cheeks. be honest what's the chance they will ever fade. if they do how long will it take? is there any proven non-surgical method of getting rid of scars? thanks in advance
